Scott Stapenhill

My interest in photography started in High School when I took classes in it. There was nothing like shooting a photo, developing the film, then seeing the image come to life on the paper as you moved it around in the developer. I was hooked!

After High School I worked for the Forest Service as a Helishot (Wildland firefighter), then studied photography at a local junior college.Things were a little tight back then but I was focused and determined in my pursuit. After a couple of years of working and going to school a former student walked into class looking for someone to work in photography at an Aerospace company. He asked the teacher if he knew anyone that he would recommend and the teacher immediately pointed to me! Wow, was I excited! I worked there for about 8 years honing my skills and even won a gold medal at the Los Angeles County Fair for a photograph I submitted!

My passion for hiking in nature and the mountains continued to grow along with my love of  photography. I really enjoyed sharing the beauty I saw through my camera with both day and nighttime scenes I captured through the lens of my camera.

I’ve been blessed to travel all over the world. I have gained an appreciation for all that I have and the opportunities that have come my way.

I love seeing the lighting in a scene and being able to translate that to a print for others to see.

Thanks for enjoying my work
